Twitter: a recently-broken, personal taboo

I once said I would never blog, much less use the regrettable word "blog," yet here I am. And I swore I'd never own a cell phone, but I gave in a couple months ago. My wife insisted I get one to ensure I could be reached when she went into labor.

Well, it's time for me to once again spit in the face of my near-Amish tendencies and partake in another modern frivolity: Twitter. You can find me at twitter.com/ultracrispy. I find most people's Twitter pages to be an incomprehensible jumble of disembodied responses to other Twitter comments I'll never read. But then I've also seen pages that have endless comic gems, with little of that reply clutter. I'll probably minimize replies myself, for aesthetic reasons, but also because I'm shy. (Bah, watch me eat my words on this, too.)

Just to clear this up: I did not insist you get a phone in case I went into labor as you were home most of the time anyway at that point.
I was worried there would be an emergency while you were with one or both of our children and have no way to call for help. Plus sometimes I wanted to reach you and you were unreachable due to no cell phone.
